Dan MacIntosh brings a vast amount of knowledge and industry experience to the Smarter Spaces team in the areas of Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Facility Project Management. He joined Smarter Spaces’s precursor, IPECC, in August 2009 as a Senior Consultant, becoming co-owner in January 2010.
Dan has 15 years of industry experience in various lead project management roles associated with design, construction, and relocation initiatives with budget management responsibilities in excess of $40 million. He is a certified Architectural Technologist with 20 years of experience working with CAD software and has his Masters Certificate in Project Management. Dan is currently working towards obtaining his Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
Dan is very strong in his analytical and strategic thinking which has led him to a role as an owner of Smarter Spaces managing the customer experience. Dan ensures all customers receive a quality experience, delivered in the same way, every time, to all Smarter Spaces Clients.
Dan and his business partners feel a great sense of pride and accomplishment for the company they are growing and the industry recognition they’ve received.
Originally from Port Hawkesbury in Cape Breton, Dan has resided in Halifax for over 17 years.
Prior experience
Dan worked with Bell Aliant’s Real Estate Services division based in Halifax for 10 years as Senior Manager for Space Planning and Project Management for Atlantic Canada. Dan played a key role in adapting the organization’s real estate portfolio to meet the needs and challenges for all key areas of business — both during growth and restructuring cycles. This included aligning real estate strategies with the corporate business plan done in part by developing and maintaining a rolling 2-5 year global space capacity plan.
