Managing competitive bid and direct sourcing
Smarter Spaces has years of experience issuing and managing competitive bid and direct sourcing on behalf of our clients. This can be the most critical component of any project; we act as the owner’s representative and protect their interests. Key components we manage are the issuance, bidders briefing, Q&A through the process, addendums, evaluation and award of Tenders/Request for Quote (RFQ) and Request for Proposal (RFPs), and Expression of Interest.
We use our knowledge, experience and library of industry-standard documents in combination with client contracts, to develop, issue, close, evaluate, award, and manage all aspects of procurement.
Tenders and contracts are how we control the cost, quality and schedule of a project. They provide parameters for the scope of a project, defining what is in and out of scope, how payments will be made, what penalties will apply and what factors will affect the schedule.
We are familiar and have extensive experience working with industry contract documents such as CCDC (Canadian Construction Documents Committee), The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada(RAIC), Canadian Standard Form of Contract for Architectural Services ; Association of Consulting Engineering Companies, Canada – Engineering Agreement between Client and Engineer.
Our leadership team has 30-plus years of combined experience in managing procurement, issuing and managing competitive bid and direct sourcing for clients.
Smarter Spaces has conducted major tenders or RFP’s for clients which include Bell Canada, Jazz Aviation LP & Chorus Aviation, Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), South Shore Regional School Board (SSRSB), Tri-county Regional School Board (TCRSB), Pictou County Health Authority, Empire Theatres, ALC, Atlantic Central.
